"Our cleaning of oriental rugs is a accomplished by a true bathing process. We accomplish the dry soil removal by high volume air flush, brushing, and vacuuming while the rug is suspended. The pre-treatment of spots, stains, and discoloration is essential to having a consistent spot free look. The next step is flushing with hundreds of gallons of water. Next, the oriental rug shampoo is applied and scrubbed with a rotary scrubber and a rotary extractor. Again, the rug is rinsed with acidic water. The water used during the entire process is cooled and an acidic agent is added to insure the dyes remain colorfast. This will also insure dimensional stability (no shrinking and the shape remains intact). Weighted rollers are used to squeeze and extract water after the rinse bath is emptied. Before hanging the rug we use a high powered extractor to remove even more moisture. The rugs are again suspended and a two ton air unit and four industrial dehumidifiers with several one horsepower fans are used to dry the rugs. Once they are dry, the fringes rinsed and treated if necessary. We again vacuum and groom the rug before it is wrapped for delivery."
